What We Believe
Mission
Belmont Heights Baptist Church strives to be a community of united, Spirit-filled followers of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:42-47) who:
Loves God supremely
Jesus replied: " 'Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment." ( Mt. 22:37-38)
Loves others sincerely
And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." (Mt. 22:39-40)
Glorifies God in every area of life
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. (1 Cor. 10:31)
Makes other mature followers of Jesus
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Mt. 28:19-20)
Pillars
Belmont Heights Baptist Church accomplishes this mission by prioritizing:
... Authoritative Teaching
... Persistent Prayer
... Passionate Worship
... Intimate Fellowship
... Sacrificial Giving
... Unyielding Evangelism
They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the LORD added to their number daily those who were being saved. (Acts 2:42-47)
